Papé is proud to be celebrating its 85th year as the premier capital equipment dealer in the West!
Since 1938, when E.C. Papé acquired his first equipment dealership in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, our company’s standards of quality and exceptional customer service were established, and have remained the same as we’ve expanded and grown.
Over the years, we’ve enjoyed providing consistent dedication to supporting local communities, employing countless families, and providing customers with the highest caliber of end-to-end solutions and reliable service. A family-owned business, we hold family values. We care, and we’re looking to build long-lasting relationships with our customers.
Today, 85 years later, we’re proud to be a leading dealer and partner for the warehouse workers, truckers, loggers, construction workers, and farmers across the West. Let’s celebrate by taking a look at our history!
Papé Early Days
A History of Innovation
In 1938. E.C. Papé acquired Slate Tractor and started his own company on the guiding principle of providing consistent, quality customer service.
When E.C. Papé’s sons, Ed and Dean Papé, took over the family business in 1945, they expanded the dealership to support customers in Roseburg and Coos Bay, Oregon, and later acquired the Caterpillar Dealership.
After WWII, Dean and Ed Papé introduced the era of the rubber-tired skidder to the Northwest timber industry from 1965-1969.
In 1978, Papé modified the Caterpillar 245 Excavator for the logging industry. Since Papé began modifying Caterpillar machinery, the company has stood at the forefront of innovation for customers, dealers, and manufacturers.
Expanding Papé
Over the next 30+ years, the Papé Group has expanded to include Ditch Witch West underground construction equipment, John Deere Construction & Forestry, Kenworth Trucks, John Deere Agriculture & Turf, Hyster and Yale Material Handling, and Engineered Products.
Each branch of Papé works with best-in-class manufacturers for each industry to keep customers moving with innovation and end-to-end capital equipment solutions. Learn more about our rich company history founded on family values.
Family-Owned and Operated
We are true to our values. As a fourth-generation, family-owned company, Papé is dedicated to supporting local charities, such as FFA organizations, education foundations, family centers, children’s hospitals, and many more. We serve as an annual sponsor for United Way of Lane County, and sponsor equipment for schools and athletic programs.
Innovation, Expansion, and Community
Innovation, expansion, and community involvement are all core to Papé’s values and roadmap to help keep the West moving. We can’t wait to spend the next 85 years remaining true to the guiding principles customers rely on while looking to the future for new, innovative methods to maximize uptime.
