EUCA CRAB FEED – 400+ ATTENDEES, CRACKING CRAB AND TALKING SHOP
Contributed by Karen Olivar, CMP, EUCA Event Manager
Our Bay Area Crab Feed turned out over 400 members, industry affiliates and guests on March 20th, packing the house at the Sunol Valley Golf Club. Among the attendees were CA LECET – California Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust, the Laborers Training Center and Apprenticeship, the Laborers Local No. 270 and No. 304, the Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons Local 300, the Painters District Council No. 16, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and John Chiang the State Controller and Chief Fiscal Officer of California. EUCA continues to focus on strengthening relationships with these organizations.
EUCA’s 2008 President, Rusty Hoseley, R & L Brosamer, Inc., welcomed the members and their companies and with Mark Breslin, EUCA CEO, thanked all the various sponsors and donors who contributed to making the event so successful. Several member companies were recognized for their milestone years of membership from 5 years to 35 years; and the EUCA Safety Awards were presented by our Safety Chairman, Gary Rudy of Duran & Venables, Inc., recognizing those companies with award winning Safety Programs (look for a complete profile in our Safety Award recipients in our upcoming June issue of the EUCA Magazine).
This Annual Crab Feed event provides an opportunity for all members of EUCA to build relationships with other companies and to develop their business and personal partnerships.
Special thanks go to the Event Chairs: Chris Mathias of CEMEX and Rachel Stroup of HUB International of California for their hard work and commitment to the event.
